How we started

Precision Tree Care is a small tree surgery company, started by Sam, in 2002. After gaining his NPTC qualifications, Sam worked for three years on the Welbeck estate, near Worksop, in their forestry department.

Due to the age of the estate, Welbeck has some of the oldest, and largest trees in the country. This provided a wonderful setting to work in, and also valuable experience in how to deal with veteran trees. Sadly times change, and eventually the forestry work on the estate began to be contracted out. This in turn, provided an opportunity to start Precision Tree Care in earnest.

Ten years on, and here we are. Precision Tree Care is taking on some interesting and challenging projects all over the country. This is thanks in no small part, to the experience, skills and qualifications gained at Welbeck.

Our family team

Sam, his wife Sarah, and Tilly the dog, use the experience they've gained, along with the best equipment available to complete tasks in all areas of tree work. One of the benefits of having worked in trees for a number of years, is that you meet a lot a skilful people. This becomes invaluable when we take on larger projects , as we can become a team of eight people or more, with more kit than we know what to do with!

What we do

One of the nicest parts of arboriculture is the variety of jobs that we undertake. A large amount of our work is domestic, and includes tree removal, tree reductions, stump grinding, hedge cutting, wood chipping and fire wood.

We also work on commercial sites and forestry projects. These can be quite varied, and give us a good opportunity to get everyone together in a bigger group. We've worked for schools, local authorities, on power line clearance, for housing estates, stately homes, holiday and caravan parks, around lakes and unfortunately, in lakes too!

What next?

If you need help or advice with any kind of tree work, we'd be happy to come and see you. This is normally the best way of getting together a plan of what you'd like done, and a price for completing the work. We're very proud to say, that we haven't found a tree project that we can't do yet!
